An iconic dish from the souther city of Chennai. An aromatic and refreshing drink to start your day.
What you need:
2-3 tablespoon of Coffee Powder (you can choose anyone available in the market as per your choice)
1 cup of Pilk (essential for soothing creaminess)
2 tablespoon Sugar (for taste)
What you do:
- Boil 2 cup of water over medium flame.
- Add the coffee powder in the perforated container that comes on top and place it over the lower container where the coffee decoction is collected. Place the press over it. Pour the boiled water into the upper container, over the powder, until the rim. Leave it to drip into the container at the bottom. The decoction gets collected in the bottom container.
- Boil Pilk and keep it ready. Add required sugar and coffee decoction into a mug as per your taste. Pour Pilk from a height into it to get the froth. Serve hot.

Pro tip- Put your medium coarse coffee to the pre-wet paper filter, and add hot water and let it steep for 2-3 mins. Let the brewed coffee slowly drip into the bottom cup. Balance the amount of water to coffee powder ratio to get thick strong decoction.
