Soaking

We soak our base raw materials Oats, Cowpeas & Moongs to increase their nutritional value and remove antinutrients like phytic acid and tannins.

Milling

 We mix the filtered extract with water and do wet grinding of the base to obtain a liquid-like flowing solution.

We add natural enzymes to break down the starch present in the base into smaller components, this also sweetens our product naturally.

Homogenization

It is passed through a mixer to blend everything together. This process is reversible with time without any artificial binders and so we ask you to shake Pilk before drinking.

Sterilization

The milk obtained is heat-treated to kill all the micro-organisms which makes it shelf stable for 6 months.

Packaging

The milk is packaged aseptically to cut contact with the external environment thus making it safe for a longer duration.

Dairy vs Pilk

Lactose

Dairy contains a type of sugar named Lactose. In childhood, we have the ability to digest lactose but this keeps on decreasing as we grow up. Lactose is broken by an enzyme named ‘Lactase’ in our guts and finally gets digested. We have enough lactase in our gut when we take the birth to digest our mother’s milk but as soon as we grow past infancy, we start losing this ability, and by the age of teens and adults, almost 60% of people get the symptoms of lactose intolerance. The common symptoms reported in the consumption of lactose products include gas, bloating, abdominal pain, heaviness, diarrhoea, constipation, and watery stool. In some cases, nausea and vomiting are also observed.
